PORTHALLOW VILLAGE HALL

We really loved our wedding at the Porthallow Village Hall. The venue is gorgeous, right by the beach, and the building is pristine. We had fun decorating the hall the day before our wedding (with the help of friends and family). On the day itself, we had a buffet-style dinner for around 40 people and then cleared the tables away for a ceilidh in the evening. We had lots of children at the wedding so the beach was the perfect place for them to play. Our guests really enjoyed exploring Porthallow over the weekend, and hiking along the South West coast path. Can't recommend this place highly enough! - Leslie & Olaf

We used Porthallow Hall for our Daughters christening. The hall is in a beautiful location looking out at the beach and the hall itself has everything you could possibly need for an event from plates, glasses, cake stands to tables, chairs and music system and more!!! Amenities to cook and dishwasher for easy cleaning. Brilliant communication with Daphne who showed us around the hall and gave us clear instructions on how to enter the hall on the day independently.

Amazing price for an amazing space!! Highly recommend and will be using again for future events!! C Moon

A New Year Meal to Remember

Porthallow’s young at heart 75s and over, celebrated the start of the New Year with a delicious 2 course meal in the Village Hall, cooked and provided by a small but very energetic PVA team.

Greeted with a Bucks Fizz on arrival, with wine to accompany the meal, the diners sat down to a two course lunch of roast chicken, veg and delicious gravy. This was followed by Pear Frangipane, Apple Crumble, Chocolate Brownie, cheese and biscuits all served by our charming "French Maids". Several meals were delivered to people unable to attend.

After lunch everyone was entertained by Al on his guitar and a great selection of songs and the afternoon rounded off with musical pass the parcel. Each wrapper produced a prize, and the final prize was a whoopee cushion!! A gift of a jar of homemade honey was given to all the guests to take home.

Thanks must go to our guests for making the whole event so enjoyable, and last, but not least, the help and commitment of a small but dedicated team of people who made it all possible - Daph, Bruce, Annie, Jane, Bob, Jan, Lou & Kitty "The French Maids", Al, Gill and Paul Burridge for the honey and Colin for the gravy. Many thanks also  to Naomi and Jeremy at the Three Tuns for helping us out at very short notice with Champagne Flutes - Bucks Fizz isn’t quite the same drunk from a cup !!
